Ancestral Gallery: Lena (2021)

Art, oil painting, Painting

When we were kids, my sister and I had two rabbits. Lars and Lena. After some years Lena sadly passed away and we got Lilly.

As a birthday present I painted Lilly ( I can’t quite remember, whom it was a present for) but my mom thought the painting looked like belongs in an Ancestral Gallery. I loved the idea and over time I painted the other two rabbits. Now we have this Ancestral Gallery in my parents corridor and the only one still missing is Maja, the Labrador I grew up with.

Here you can see the painting for Lena. I love how I can notice that I did improve with oil colors by painting the three cuties.

Funfact: My sister wanted to have a little brother named Lars instead of a sister (me) and was rather disappointed when she couldn’t give me that name. Since she was a big fan of “Lars der kleine Eisbär” she picked out Lars when he was a baby, since he is completely white.

The story is about a small polar bear that also has a snow rabbit friend: Lena. In the story, Lena looks exactly like the rabbit I picked out. That’s how we found both of the names for our little rabbits.

Oni Mask/ sketch (2021)

Art, Masks, masks, Sculptures

Besides painting, I also love to sculpt masks.

After I finished my Rabbit mask (click here to see the project), some friends of mine wanted me to make plaster masks for them too.

One of them, Duc, wanted me to do a dark blue/grayish Oni mask for him. These are the sketches. The mask actually exists- but it isn’t finished and I haven’t worked on it in a looooong while. Maybe I can take a picture of it one day.

You can see the process of me taking a plaster mask off his face underneath the sketches.

The reason why it isn’t finished is, that I am not happy with the current state of it. Right now it even has details, teeth (made out of fimo) and is painted, but it is simply too heavy and not symmetrical enough for my liking.

Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)

Aquarell, Art, character, Faces, Watercolor

For one of my moms colleagues birthday, I was supposed to paint a card last minute. Since apparently He likes video games, I decided on this one. It ain’t my favorite one but she’s still cute.
To be honest I must say, that I still haven’t played it yet. But with all the negative backla

sh and the fact, that mycomputer would simply die by trying to run it, I haven’t found the motivation to actually get it.

Also on this watercolor card, you will simply think that she has purple skin, but it’s actually the lighting (which you can’t really notice, since my execution is rather poor lol)

Another Fae Update

Art, Sculptures

Here we go again!
I just realized, that I apparently do not have nice pictures of the finished Fae sculptures. So instead of giving you the end result right now, I will feed you more progress updates (even though I finished the two cuties about three to four years ago.

The farther down you go in this Blog entry, the more progress you will notice on them!

Schoolbook sketches (2020)

Art, Drawing

In 10th grade, I loved to scribble silly little figures pin my notebooks. In order to not make these books look silly, I started to use single pieces of paper to do these scribbles on.
When we had time, one of my friends and I started to name these little creatures. I think uo top date my favorites are Toby, Pixie and Amando. Which one do you like best?

And by the way: Happy new year!!

Portait Commission

Aquarell, Art

In the beginning of 2020 I went to “Nightfleemarket” events. An inside flee market, where I painted live and tried to sell some of my artwork.

While being there, I got some of my first commissions from people that weren’t relatives or friends.
This here is one of them. The lovely elderly pair asked me to paint them, I believe it was for their anniversary or something similar.

According to them I asked for absolutely not enough payment, to which they gave me more, than I originally asked for.

It was a lovely experience and I am up to date really happy, how the commission turned out. Especially since it is not heavily stylized but rather quite realistic.

Ink sketch: Skull

Art, Drawing

During 2020 I started to feel like tattooing would be something that I enjoy. Until today I still haven’t started actually learning how to do it, but the wish has never left and nowadays I am actually planning on learning in within the next year or something.

I tried out typical Ink Styles and this skull was one of the first things I drew in that kind of style.

I only now realized that I dated it was “2020” but I remember (and my phone also says the same) that I finished it on the 1rt of January 2021.

I also remember, that I listened to a Big-Food “the three investigators” (German: die drei ???) Audiobook while drawing it.

Christmas Cards

Aquarell, Art

Marry Christmas to all of you!

During the same time, my mom and I printed the heavily stylized Christmas cards (you can see them in my last blog post) I also painted some more usual looking Christmas cards that we also printed and gifted to others.

Right now, we are actually still selling some of them, as people love them!

Here, you can see two different ones:

Winter Cards 2020

Aquarell, Art

Matching the current days, I decided to show you these ones, I created in winter of 2020.
During that Christmas season my mom and I decided to print my first cards. Our friends and relatives loved them!

I don’t know why I was doing it, but they have this specific style you for sure notice.

Anyway, I still love these cuties 🙂

tooth mask pt. 1

Art, character, Faces, Masks, masks, Sculptures

after finishing my rabbit mask so I started a new one. I still gonna take good quality pictures of it but here it is. It was inspired by Tokyo Ghoul, the masks from Bring me the horizons Parasite even and the traditional Oni mask.

It’s made of plaster, hot glue, modelling paste and some plastics I found in the bin. Its painted with acrylics. I made the teeth out of FIMO

Rabbit mask pt. 2

Art, character, Faces, Masks, masks

so here you can see how she turned out. I’m really happy with that mask. Especially because I haven’t done one in over three years. So the whole mask is made of plaster, modelling paste and then painted with acrylics. the ears are made of some really stable but light material. I put middle thick wire at the sides, so that I can bend them and that they are even more stable. Afterwards I painted some shadows with chalk. I wanted to blood at the top of her head to shine so I put some ind of clear vanish over it.
