About me

#Halloween

Hi I‘m Patty<3

My name is Patrizia and I was born in 2003 and am currently living in Leipzig, Germany. I moved here, after I finished school. After doing a  Voluntary social Year in this beautiful city, I started to study politics. I grew up in Dreieich, Hesse in Germany.

Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to draw, paint, and create art in general.

In 2012, I began going to Art in English, a private art class where I also discovered my love for sculpting. The wonderful artist Sandra Baker-Finn taught me most of the things I know today.

When I began gymnasium in 2015, I joined the school’s art club where I was able to spend extra time working on various art projects.

One year later, I began concentrating on drawing portraits of well-known characters. All my projects, it seems, reflect my interests and feelings at that particular time.

I love to experience with different materials. Upcycling rubbish into little figures, experiencing with clay or plaster, oil painting, digital art, and so on. Name something and I’ll gladly try it!

About the topics of my art:

As a young child, I was a big fan of Donald Duck. Since 2016 I have had a passion for Superheros and Marvel movies which is the reason why so many of my art works are based on that theme.

In the summer of 2018, I became very interested in Asian music and movies. Therefore I painted and drew a lot of well known people from that scene.

This phase found an end (not just by stopping to listen to that kind of music) and I discovered that I am a lot happier if I paint my own characters- that aren’t inspired by real people.

During the few years where I consumed a lot of K-Pop related media, I became rather unhappy with my art. Since I am (or rather was?) quite active on instagram and regularly posted my art on there, I noticed how I  only painted what I thought people would like. And with the likes I got I got enough dopamine to believe it worked. Obviously I didn’t do this on purpose. But over time I noticed that, since my community was mainly coming from K-pop fans too, my own art wouldn’t get seen or liked, which was really frustrating as a teenager. By stopping to post K-pop related stuff, I lost followers and even though I never wanted to be someone that looks at numbers, it was still a bit hard for me to want to be online and show my art, after all.

I realized that it wasn’t good for me so I just stopped to post and be online regularly at all. I am a lot happier with my art now and thought that at least updating this Website and my instagram page (@Rexdiagramm) couldn’t hurt. So let’s get started!

Nowadays I am  a big fan of different music genres like dark wave,  metalcore and hardcore.  I still love to watch movies and read books- especially horror and fantasy ones- as long as it opens a door to escaping reality, everything dies it for me. These things combined are maybe even visible in the thing I create- since it’s simply my style now ❤
